Runners predicted their own finishing time prior to the start of the race. They were not allowed to wear watches during the run. The runner finishing closet to his/her predicted time was the winner.

It was a fairly cold morning but no wind, thankfully. A potluck followed at the Raich’s which was just down the street from the start/finish line in City Park.
