February:  Spring Runoff Tune Up #2

 This run/walk will start in the parking lot of Dutch Clark Stadium, go to the river trail and return. 

 

March:  South Shore 5M Trail Run #3 

 

Run and walk start at  the lower South Shore parking lot marked “Additional Parking” (west of main lot).   A run of just over five miles on moderately difficult trails, this is a free run, however, a Parks Pass is required to enter Lake Pueblo.

APRIL:  Silver Dollar Predict Run #4

Join hosts Danny and Melanie Nelson for the Silver Dollar Predict Run to be held on the Mesa east of Pueblo starting at 1159 29th Lane, in Pueblo County. The run and walk distance is a 5.1 mile run or 2.1 mile walk, all on asphalt roads. Pot luck to follow.

MAY:   “Choose Your Own Adventure”,  Predict #5

Hosted by Sean and Jitka McGivney.  

Walker Routes are 1.65 or 2.1 miles, and go east from the McGivney home into a newer residential area, and make a loop past the park, quite pedestrian friendly.
Running Routes are choices of 4.9 or 5.9 miles, and start heading west down the hill from our house, onto the bike path, both distances have about a 1 mile climb into the Belmont neighborhood, over the bridge to the University, down to the bike path, back into University Park and past the park back to our house.
We would love for everyone to stick around for a potluck!

JUNE:  Peaks and Prairies at Rob & Becks #6    

Hosted by Robert Espinoza and Rebecca Simmons.  Bring your favorite dish to share with your fellow runners as there will be a potluck brunch immediately following the run.    You may also want to bring a chair, as we will be outdoors for the social.

 

JUNE:  No Wine Before It’s Time Predict #7  

We are having a new predict run on June 15th at 6:00pm.  Ken and Melanie Hughes are hosting a evening predict run at their office, 1601 Bonforte Blvd.  They are donating beyond burgers and wine for the social potluck afterward.  THANK YOU!!
Runners are encouraged to bring a side dish to go with the beyond burgers and wine. Does not have to be vegan

The run will start and end at 1601 Bonforte Blvd.  It will go west to the river trail, down the trail, turn around and back the same way.  This would be for each distance.  Please note that there will be a crossing at Jerry Murphy and traffic will not be monitored so if they have children they will need an adult with them.

JULY:  Vision Hills Predict Run 5M/2M   #8  

Hosted by Natilie Gowen and family..

This one will also be a potluck, so bring your favorite breakfast dish to share and plan to stay for a while after the run. We’re starting at 7:00 am to beat the heat. The run/walk will take us up Vision Hills Parkway (the old 47th Street) towards Walking Stick Boulevard. It’s 5 or 2 miles and it could be hot, so you may want to carry water. Hope to see you there.

AUGUST:  Runapalooza 3M/1.3M     #9   

3 mile run and 1.3 mile walk starting at the south side home of Stacey and Dave Diaz. The address is  4727 Walnutcrest Ct, in the Domega area of Pueblo. The first part of the run/walk is in the neighborhood, around a park, then runners head west on Red Creek Springs Rd. There will be a water stop at the turn, then return to the house. Pot luck to follow.

SEPTEMBER:  Jessie Finally Finished an Ironman Predict  #10   

Help Jessie Casarez celebrate finishing her first Ironman with a 3 mile run and 1 mile walk (all on dirt roads) beginning at her Pueblo West home, 721 E Heron Drive. If no fire ban there will be a fire to roast marshmallows or make smores. Potluck and BYOB cookout to follow the run so come prepared to spend the evening relaxing and schmoozing. Jessie asks anyone who has completed an Ironman or half to wear their shirt or hat, also bring chairs.

October: Harvest Run  #11

The following info is from 2022. 2023 location may change.  Celebrate an early Halloween at the Southern Colorado Runners 35th annual Harvest Run. This year’s event will be held at the Gold Dust Saloon, 217 S. Union Ave, Pueblo, CO. The run will be about 3 miles (the run/walk about 1.5 Mile) in and around Pueblo’s Historic district to include the River Walk. It will start in the alley behind the Gold Dust  at 4:30 PM, just show up to the back patio  a little early to sign in for this free run/walk. We’ll have to be careful as there will be traffic. Runners will be required to obey pedestrian traffic signals. This is similar to the Social Shuffle run rules. Whether you run or walk, plan to stay for the best part, complimentary beverages and appetizers on the back patio of the Gold Dust Saloon, courtesy of your favorite running club, the SOCO Running/Tri Club. OCTOBER:  Dia de los Muertos #12 

Dia de los Muertos, Saturday, 5 pm Imperial Garden Cemetery, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, CO 81005. It starts/ends near the reception building in the back (south end) of the cemetery. Race director Joe Spinuzzi would like to encourage runners to have some fun and dress up in Dia de Los Muertos attire; costume, face paint, etc (but optional)  Potluck to follow in the hall.

NOVEMBER: Temple Canyon  #13  

Join the Southern Colorado Runners for the annual Temple Canyon Predict Run, traditionally the Saturday after Thanksgiving,   9am, 4 mile run or 2.4 mile run/walk. This free, beautiful run is a four mile, single track, dirt trail run through the canyon lands south of Canon City. The scenery on the hilly trails is stunning as it winds around the junipers, but watch the trail for rocks and roots, and you’ll be fine. Moderate difficulty but not suitable for strollers. Hosted by Nelson and Debbie Brentlinger and begins/ends at their Pueblo West home, 614 E Marigold Dr. Join SCR for a fun 5 mile run or 2.5M run/walk on the dirt roads and power line trails near their home. Join the potluck afterwards and bring your favorite brunch dish to share.

January 2023: The Chile Willy Predict Run #1  

 Thank you to Alexandria and Patrick Romero for offering their beautiful home, located at 201 Jackson St, to host the January Predict Run, the “Chile Willy”, it is about a 3 mile run.  Their home is 2 blocks southwest of the Rawlings Library in the Mesa Junction. The run starts at their home, heads to Union Ave, crosses the Arkansas River on the Union Bridge and heads to the Riverwalk, turn right and do a complete counter-clockwise loop of the Riverwalk, including Lake Victoria. After the loop, exit the Riverwalk and head back on Union, the way you came. There is not much traffic on Saturday morning but watch for cars especially when we cross Abriendo. This is a potluck so bring a brunch item to share.
